English MUN Club members are excited about the upcoming TIMUN conference that will be held between 5-8 December at Üsküdar Amerikan’s high school. MUN has been one of the most fulfilling clubs so far and for reaching the international level debate skills, our students have been studying a lot for weeks.

Here one of our 11th grade students states her own expectations on TIMUN, the first conference of this educational year :

« As of October we have been studying hard to be succesful in the MUN conferences and at the same time to represent our school in the best way. Some of us have already taken part in MUN conferences as delegates and for some of us this conference in Üsküdar American Academy will be the first MUN conference experience, but we are all really excited to be present in « TIMUN ». For us, participating to a conference like « TIMUN » is an honor and I hope during these four days we will be able to create new ideas in order to manage our planet to be more safe to live without wars, etchnic turbulence, religious clashes etc… While discussing, we will also try to find new ideas to increase the quality of life in less economically developed countries with the hope that sources will be more and equally shared there, and everyone will get free health covers and manage to have good education…

While we are doing all this, we will create new friendships from all around the world and perhaps it will be a good opportunity for us to exchange the different points of view and also we will have some fun during the off periods of the conference. All in all, we hope this highly prestigious conference will pass quickly, succesfully and with all new friendships, and in the end we will have an amazing conference. »
